1. Scarves
I saw this video for the first time last year, and it got me all pumped up about wearing scarves. I wear them all the time now, and I’m never going to stop. Because they’re cute, and they’re warm, and they make me look more put-together. And who couldn’t use a little of that?
2. A brilliant and unusual idea
Four teenagers – TEENAGERS! – in Africa have created a generator that converts urine into electricity. That’s right–it turns one liter of human waste into 6 hours of electricity. The brilliance of this takes my breath away, and makes me feel immense optimism for humanity. Read the full story here. What will they think of next?
3. Garlicky baked butternut squash
Amazingly delicious. Made it twice this month. Angela at Oh She Glows sure knows her stuff, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for bringing this recipe into my life. You can get the recipe for yourself here…peeling the butternut squash is a huge pain (Be safe! Don’t cut yourself!) but the rest is easy-peasy, and after you stick it in the oven for an hour, it comes out tasting like heaven.
4. My followers on Pinterest
I did a happy dance about two weeks ago because I passed 700 followers on Pinterest. And then yesterday I passed 800. What?!? I don’t know where these beautiful people are coming from, but I love it! Welcome, new Pinterest friends! Let’s talk about food. We can start here.
5. My Christmas tree decorations…now that they’re done
I made homemade cinnamon ornaments for our tree this year. It was a roller coaster of emotion, making these things. I was super pumped, and ambitious enough to triple the batch. Then I started making them, and it took a really, REALLY long time. By the end, I was so over it.
Then the next day, I looked at my handiwork, and decided they were worth it. But I won’t make them again for a few years, you know? My tree looks awesome. I’m getting a new camera next week (WOO HOO!) and once I do, I’ll take some pics of the tree to show you. So we have that to look forward to next week.
Woo!
Happy day to you, my lovelies!
