I’ve introduced my kitties on the blog before, Charlie and Ninja Bob. Charlie is about 5, and he’s gray and petite. Ninja Bob is not quite two, and has for some time now has had several pounds advantage on Charlie. He’s big-boned and just a little clumsy.
Once upon a time, when Bob was little, he was smaller than Charlie. Ninja Bob is the black cat (hence, Ninja.) Here they are, in their favorite room (the porch) watching birds together. Charlie was there first. Ninja Bob wanted to be just like him. Still does.
Charlie does a trick that blows Bob’s mind. It starts when a toy rolls under the desk. Since Bob grew up, he’s gotten much bigger. Bob just peeks in the shadows, and maybe sticks a paw under in a halfhearted attempt to get it back. That opening is just too small, you see.
But Charlie squeezes and wriggles and army crawls under the teeny opening under the desk to go get it. Sometimes he stays for a little while and just looks out at everybody. He’s flaunting, I think. Bob doesn’t understand how he does it.
A big brother needs some privacy sometimes.
