First off, I know it’s Wednesday. But I didn’t get my pictures off my camera right away, but there’s some GOOD ones, and I feel the need to share them with you. Okay? Okay.
Who else enjoyed a balmy-weathered weekend? It was absolutely beautiful here, 65-70 and sunny, I even spent enough time outside Sunday to necessitate sunscreen. It smelled like the beach and made me happy.
My big accomplishment for the weekend was getting two trays of seeds started! My dad (who is also the handiest man in the world) helped me bring life back into some hand-me-down grow lights I got from my friend’s dad…an hour on the lawn with a pile of dirt spent carefully dropping seeds into the dirt, and I was in business.
I planted seeds for roma tomatos, jalapeno peppers, violets, french marigolds (to keep the bunnies away), roman chamomile, basil, lavender and thyme. I will check every day until they sprout. It’s so exciting.
Outside, my yarrow and catnip are coming along spectacularly! Considering it’s not even April yet, they’re HUGE! Check them out…the catnip:
And yarrow (with a little bit of St. John’s Wort behind)…
Our walnut trees have big green buds on them…pretty soon, they’ll be covered in beautiful white flowers.
In other news, we had a delightful visit from a good friend who helped my hubby conquer our attic. It needs to be cleaned up a bit, then we’re going to use it for some storage. I’ll leave you with a before shot of the heroic duo, dressed in protection from the possibility of a bat infestation up there, among other possible treachery.
(And for everyone’s peace of mind…they found no bats. YESSSSS!)
