This week’s favorite find is actually a small collection of items in our foyer. I really like our front entry because it’s quite functional and easy to keep clean, mostly thanks to this little setup. (Plus, the curved wall makes me swoon.)
The table itself is a cute little console that my grandparents gave us as a wedding gift. The vase, tray and flowered doily were all picked up while Jon and I went antiquing on our honeymoon near Shell Lake, Wisconsin. If you’re ever in the area, go to Jean’s Antiques. It’s my favorite antique shop anywhere. I liked it so much I went once with Jon, then went back again the next day to pick up more treasures. But I digress.
The other star of the show is a simple wicker trash can, and the original idea behind this Favorite Finds post. Before I make you guess how much I paid for this little beauty…I’m just going to tell you it was SEVENTY CENTS! It’s such a rush to find something cool for less than a dollar.
After I brought it home, I gave it a little makeover with some turquoise spray paint. It took two coats; the entire project took less than an hour including drying time. Smashing success, by all accounts.
