In lieu of a “real” blog post this week, I’m sharing an announcement that explains why I haven’t had time to actually write a blog post this week!
I’ve combined my two Etsy shops into one shop.
Don’t worry—neither one is going away!
I’ve been busy this week combining the merchandise in of my two shops into just one, slightly bigger, shop. (And it will be bigger, still, very soon . . . more on that later.)
In my newly-unified shop, you’ll find a carefully curated collection of lovely vintage items for the home, as well as handmade goods made with vintage and sustainable materials, like shopping bags and gift tags and pretty banners + buntings.
I combined the shops for many reasons, including:
- Most people didn’t get why I had two shops in the first place (liiiiiike….when your own mom asks for clarification, it’s time to make a change)
- I used to have good reasons for having them separate, but the reasons for combining suddenly became BETTER
- This makes managing things from the back end way easier for me
- And, most importantly, my lovely customers can now find all my stuff under one “roof,” which makes shopping easier and way more fun
After I told my brother about my decision, and was telling my parents later that day, my brother prodded me: “Tell them how the name is changing. That’s the best part.” So I will tell you too, feel free to laugh at my expense: Instead of having two shops, Rosy Blu Vintage and Rosy Blu Handmade, I will have one shop: Rosy Blu (tagline: handmade and vintage). Cleverest thing you’ve heard all day, right? (Note to self, why, oh WHY didn’t I do this in the first place?)
But the funniest thing is: for several months last year, I planned to open a THIRD shop—Rosy Blu DIY, to sell a third category of goods in the form of fabric, vintage sheet fat quarters and supplies for people who like to make their own beautiful things. Thank goodness the Universe put the kibosh on that idea, in the form of “I’m too busy to launch it right now,” otherwise we’d have a hot mess on our hands*. But on the bright side, I have all the stuff I was going to put in that DIY shop, and in the next few months you’ll see it pop up on the (one and only) Etsy shop, awaiting your brilliant, creative mind to put it to use.
An additional factoid for you:
My living room floor is FULL of vintage stuff waiting to be listed, and I plan to get it online it posthaste. That means there’s more in store for you, very soon.
And (hint hint):
After I’ve listed said Pile of Beautiful Goodies, I will be having a FLASH SALE.
If you:
A. want to get some early holiday shopping done, or
B. think you deserve something pretty (YOU DO)
. . . then you should sign your fine self up for my email list righthisminute.
I repeat: I will only be announcing the flash sale to subscribers.
To sum up:
- Two Etsy shops have become one, and that one is http://rosyblu.etsy.com
- The shop has both vintage AND handmade in one place (woo hoo!)
- And I have even more great stuff coming soon
- And once it does, you’ll wish you were a subscriber. (Become a subscriber by clicking here.) I swear that’s the last time I’ll say it. On this blog.
Here is a sampling of things currently in the shop:
A vintage Cootie game from the 1950s, with all its original pieces:
A handmade ruffly garland:
Oh-so-popular vintage teal mason jars, my best seller:
Hand stamped gift tags:
And the loveliest casserole server I’ve ever seen:
Before I go, one last thing:
Tell me in the comments what you’re currently hunting for online. I’d love to hear what you’d like to see MORE of in the shop!
*And by mess, I mean ME.
