I’m a certain kind of Minnesotan. I don’t hate winter….but my honest-to-goodness favorite part of the cold weather is how very pleasant it is to cocoon yourself in a warm, cozy blanket with a hot beverage. More than any outdoor sport, I enjoy the scenery of a snow-covered neighborhood from the warmth of my snug home.
Now, even if you’re not exactly like me in this way, you can still appreciate this little treat. My fabulous sister introduced me to rice packs last winter, and it has significantly increased my enjoyment during the winter months. Pop it in the microwave for a few minutes, and you’ve got yourself a nice warm pillow that will chase the chills away.
Mine is the perfect size to sling around my neck to warm my tense muscles after a long day. I also love to toss it in the bed to warm up my feet when I’m trying to fall asleep.
Shameless plug: these toasty bags of goodness will be available at Handmade Neighborhood this Saturday with a variety of beautiful fabrics to choose from! (I promise I’ll stop doing that…next week.)
Pretty pictures once again courtesy of Angie.
**Update: These rice bags (and other patterns) are now available in my Etsy Shop. Enjoy! **
