I use swear words in my blog posts!
I have gotten emails and messages from people (usually right before or after unsubscribing) who, for reasons of religion, propriety, professionalism or otherwise, relate that they cannot continue to read or condone a blog which uses the language that sometimes appears on my blog posts.
I am writing this to explain that, while I hear you and I respect your opinion, I must ask you to respect that my opinion is different.
I am intentionally using my words to bring more love, thoughtfulness, and insight into the world. Just like when I’m talking, emphasis or humor may be elevated by colorful language. Sometimes this requires a strong word, to emphasize a point. Sure, I could use different words. But I don’t want to. The way I choose to communicate is the way that is most natural for me. I take my job seriously, but I take myself lightly.
If we are kindred, I invite you to stay, to think and converse about the ideas behind my words. If you find my words offensive, I truly wish for you to keep searching, to find someone whose words will speak to what your soul needs to hear.
“Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.”
